If you love the sweet/salty thing that is so popular right now then you will love these!
The crunchy, salty pretzels are a great contrast to the otherwise gooey, sticky brownies! Strangely I had many volunteers come forward to test this one!!
Makes 12 Brownies Approx 15p each
Prep time 10 minutes Cooking time 20 minutes
Ingredients
110g unsalted butter, melted
200g caster sugar
2 eggs
60g self raising flour
30g cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
60g salted pretzels, chopped
Preheat the oven to 180C/Fan 170/Gas 4
Grease a 20cmx20cm baking tin & line with parchment paper.
Melt the butter gently in a small saucepan. Set aside to cool a little.
Place the pretzels into a sealable plastic bag & bash with a rolling pin until they are broken up, don't worry if they are different size pieces, it all adds to the texture!
Beat the butter & sugar together in a mixing bowl, add the eggs & mix well.
In another bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder & salt & stir it into the sugar mixture.
Add the vanilla & stir in the pretzels.
Pour the mixture into your prepared tin & place whole pretzels on top.
Bake for about 20 minutes until the edges are firm.
Cut into 12, serve just warm or cold.
