Most people I know love garlic bread (me included!) & while I would not call it boring I've been thinking recently if it's possible to make it a bit more interesting!
This is what I came up with & having tried & tested it a few times I was really pleased with the result & I hope you enjoy it!
Serves 4 Approx 36p per person
Prep time 10 minutes Cooking time 25 minutes
Ingredients
1 garlic baguette
1/2 bunch spring onions
75g grated cheese
100ml milk
100ml 1/2 fat creme fraiche
3 eggs
salt & pepper
Grease a shallow baking dish with butter. Separate the garlic bread slices & lay them in the dish, you may need to squish them a little to get them all in!
Top with he spring onions & sprinkle over the cheese.
Mix together the milk, creme fraiche & eggs. Season well with salt & pepper.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the garlic bread. Using a fork or your fingers press the slices down so that everything get fully immersed.
Allow it to soak for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile pre-heat the oven to 180Fan/200C/Gas 6
Place the bake in the oven for 25 minutes until golden brown on top.
Serve hot.
